Sarcoidosis Death – Drew Stein
Posted on June 21, 2011 by Jeffrey
One of my inspirations in this whole world of Sarcoidosis Drew Stein died from complications of the disease on June 18th 2011 at 2:22pm. He was 49 years old.
Drew contracted this dreadful disease on September 11th 2001 eleven days before his 40th birthday. He was a New York City resident at the time and lived in the area for about a year afterward. He was recently diagnosed (Late April 2010) with Sarcoidosis of the liver, spleen, lymphatic system, kidneys and lungs. He spent four days in the hospital being tested.
He was an inspiration to me and others at inspire.com where he went by the name of DragonFire. All of the posts he had were very inspiring and made me laugh . . they made me have hope . . . Drew placed hope within my heart about this disease.
In one of his posts he wrote about falling and being hospitalized and then learning how to walk again. I wrote to him telling him to take care. What he wrote was inspiring and thoughtful even though he was the one who needed up lifting.
My heart goes out to his family and friends. The world has lost a true warrior.
